FTC SIM (Simulator) is a free, online, interactive platform from FIRST Robotics Canada that allows students in grades 4-9 to learn and practice programming a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robot in a virtual environment. Using block-based or OnBot Java coding, users can control a virtual robot to complete a series of programming puzzles and challenges, from basic movements to navigating complex tasks using sensors and mechanisms like grabbers. The simulator also includes features for teachers to manage student accounts and track progress, making it a valuable tool for hands-on STEM education without the need for a physical robot.
This grant was funded by the Argosy Foundation. The mission of the Argosy Foundation is to support people and programs that make our society a better place to live. We seek to employ creative and entrepreneurial approaches that help people to help themselves and become self-sustaining whenever possible. Our intention is to solve systemic problems, build teams and communities, create replicable solutions, and inspire others to contribute in their own ways.
Thank you to our first Platinum sponsor, FTC SIM and the Argosy foundation!
